MDCASC 50th Anniversary
Saturday 5th July, midday
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the club house, Market Drayton Sports Club are throwing a party. The event starts at 10am with a “not-parkrun”, and there will be lots of music, food and sports events throughout the day.
Come and support the Little Voices Choir (singing around midday) and a range of bands performing up until 8pm. Join in with tug-of-war, face painting, walking football, and softball cricket.
Bring chairs, gazebos, blankets, and enjoy the day with your family!

Here Comes the Sun

A feel good summer singalong. We look forward to welcoming you at the Methodist Church for an evening of songs and fun featuring a special showcase from the Junior Theatre Workshop.
Doors will open at 6.30 for pre-show refreshments. All money raised on the night will be put towards the production costs of the Junior Theatre Workshop production of Honk! in October.
The juniors are all very excited for Honk! and will be previewing one of the songs during their showcase.
We hope you can join us in support of our wonderfully talented juniors and enjoy an evening of entertainment.
HONK! Jr.
Folk will be flocking to JTW’s production of HONK! JR., a contemporary and comic re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling. Based on the award-winning musical Honk! by George Stiles (composer) and Anthony Drewe (books and lyrics), HONK! JR is a witty and heartwarming show celebrating what makes each of us special.
HONK! JR. follows “Ugly,” who hatches looking quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice, and despite his loving mother’s protective flapping, Ugly’s odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. When Ugly is separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, he must find his way home. Along his harrowing yet hilarious journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms.
HONK! JR. is an incredibly clever show that will have you laughing out loud. Yet at the center of all its humor is a touching message about acceptance. We’d like to applaud the students in JTW’s production, by working as part of this cast and crew, each young person has been able to explore what makes him or her unique.
